Trump 47 in Infrared

The second Trump administration has brought a fundamental shift to the decorum and aesthetics expected of the Presidency and the White House. IR47, likewise, shifts the documentary viewpoint typical of Presidential photojournalism and looks at Trump's second term using infrared photography, producing images that are simultaneously beautiful and sinister, iconically familiar and alien.  The vibrant colors ask viewers to consider the administration and its impact on Washington through a surreal, almost carnival-like lens. The pinks and blues are aggressively feminine and challenge the administration’s performance of masculinity, recasting its displays of power as strange, unstable, and theatrical.
